The hood ornament from a 1931 Cadillac V-16 Fleetwood all-weather phaeton. At that point I was still avoiding backgrounds because I worried I would ruin the car painting or distract from it. Hill & Vaughn was next door to my office in the 1990s, so I had chances to photograph cars like this up close.
